This policy explains what Swan Creek Spirits collects when you reserve a bottle for in-store pickup, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Who we are

Swan Creek Spirits operates an online catalog that lets you reserve products for pickup at our store. We do not sell or ship products online and we do not take payment online — you pay in person at the counter when you pick up your order, after we verify your age and identity. This policy applies to our website and the reservation process.

Information we collect

We keep data collection to what we need to hold and hand off your order:

  • Reservation details you give us: your name, phone number, and (optionally) email address, plus the items, quantities, and pickup details of your reservation.
  • Text-message consent: if you opt in, we record that you agreed to receive order-status text messages at the number you provide.
  • Information collected automatically: basic technical data your browser sends (such as IP address, device and browser type) and strictly-necessary cookies described below. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

We do not create customer accounts and we do not collect or store payment-card numbers on this website — payment happens in person at the register.

How we use your information

  • To prepare, hold, and hand off your pickup reservation.
  • To contact you about your order — for example, to tell you it is ready, or if there is a problem or substitution.
  • To send order-status text messages, only if you opt in (see below).
  • To verify age and identity at pickup and otherwise comply with Alabama alcohol-beverage law and our retail license obligations.
  • To operate, secure, and improve our website, and to keep records required for our business and legal compliance.

We do not use your information for behavioral advertising, and we do not sell or rent your personal information.

Text messages (SMS)

Order-status texts are sent only if you check the opt-in box at checkout. These are transactional messages about your specific order; message frequency varies by order, and message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, or reply HELP for help. Opting out of texts does not cancel your reservation — we may still reach you by phone or email about it. Mobile opt-in data and consent are not shared with third parties for their own marketing.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use a small number of strictly-necessary cookies and similar browser storage to make the site work — for example, to remember the items in your cart, to record that you have passed the 21+ age check so you are not asked on every page, and to keep staff signed in to the private admin area. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics tracking cookies, so no cookie-consent banner is required to browse.

How we share information

We share personal information only in limited ways:

  • Service providers who help us operate — for example, our email and text-message delivery providers — and who may process your information only to provide those services to us.
  • Legal and safety reasons — to comply with the law, a lawful request, or our alcohol-license obligations, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our customers, staff, or business.
  • Business transfers — if our business is sold or reorganized, customer information may transfer as part of that transaction.

We do not sell your personal information.

How long we keep it

We keep reservation and order records only as long as needed to run our business, serve you, resolve disputes, and meet legal, tax, and alcohol-regulatory recordkeeping requirements, after which we delete or de-identify them.

How we protect it

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls on our admin tools, and limiting access to staff who need it. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

  • Opt out of order texts any time by replying STOP.
  • Ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, subject to records we must keep by law.
  • Decline to provide a phone number or email — though we need a way to reach you to hold and hand off a reservation.

Age requirement

Our products and website are intended only for adults of legal drinking age (21 or older). The site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above, and significant changes will be reflected on this page.
